Tiger Woods nears 50, and the PGA Tour Champions are ready for him

Tiger Woods is meanwhile taking time away from the greens these days. The American golfer underwent lumbar disc surgery last month and is focusing on his recovery. He will turn 50 in December and would then be eligible to play on the PGA Tour Champions.

This week, PGA Tour Champions president Miller Brady opened up about Tiger Woods in an interview with Golf Channel. He said that the Senior Tour is prepared to welcome the American golfer to play on the circuit if he wants to.

"Yes, we're ready. We're well prepared," Brady said. "We've done some whiteboarding over the past year in preparation for Tiger turning 50. And if and when he plays, our tournaments are prepared.
"It is going to be more. Security, buses, portalets, concession stands -- all of that is taken into account when we plan for that."

Tiger Woods has not played in any PGA Tour events since The Open 2024. Fans were expecting him to play at the Hero World Challenge, but he has skipped the event.

The American golfer announced the 20-player field for the event, and it does not include his name. He is expected to compete at the PNC Championship 2025.

However, there is still no update on his next outing. It would be interesting to see if Woods will play on the PGA Tour Champions next year.
