Si Woo Kim and another popular South Korean professional golfer are reportedly in talks to join LIV Golf. The reports emerged this week after the Saudi PIF-backed golf league announced its recent trademark filings.

After the 2025 season, Henrik Stenson and Frederik Kjettrup were among the golfers relegated from the breakaway tour. As the 2026 LIV season inches closer, the golf league has welcomed Laurie Canter and Victor Perez on board. The golfers have joined Majesticks GC and Cleeks GC, respectively.

Recent reports have indicated that Si Woo Kim can also join the LIV roster. He will most likely be a part of the Ironheads GC lineup to fill the spot left by the relegated Yubin Jang. Flushing It Golf confirmed Kim's name in a post on X and wrote:

"Si Woo Kim is in late stage negotiations to join Ironheads GC on the LIV Golf League along with another high profile South Korean PGA Tour member. It’s unclear what is holding up the deal, but league sources are confident it will be agreed before the 2026 season starts."

Si Woo Kim is a four-time PGA Tour winner. In 2017, the then 21-year-old became the youngest player to win the Players Championship. Although this report led a section of fans to speculate that the other South Korean pro is the two-time PGA Tour winner Sungjae Im, that is not the case.

When potential LIV Golf joinee Si Woo Kim felt he did not belong on PGA Tour

In May 2025, Si Woo Kim and Scottie Scheffler were paired together for the first two rounds of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch. In a post-round media interaction, Kim gave an honest evaluation of the World No. 1 golfer.

Kim also admitted that playing alongside Scheffler made him feel as if he was "not on the PGA Tour." The South Korean pro further stated:

"I feel so poor. I feel like rubbish. I feel like I'm not on the PGA Tour, like, like God versus like way bottom, like, all the irons, like, right at the pin, right at the pin, like, I feel like the pin's gonna pull in his ball like this, fishing. He's a magnet.... we've played a couple of times I feel like I'm super terrible"

Scheffler was in excellent form throughout the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson week, which led him to win the event. Kim finished 16 strokes behind the Texan pro and tied for 15th place.
