Scottie Scheffler's team win at the inaugural Optum Golf Channel Games confirmed by tape measures

Scottie Scheffler had won the inaugural edition of the Optum Golf Channel Games 2025. The American golfer competed in five challenges team event. He was joined by Sam Burns, Luke Clanton, and Keegan Bradley. They played against Rory McIlroy’s team, which also included Luke Donald, Shane Lowry, and Haitong Li.

Team Scheffler had an impressive time playing in the event at the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter. They took an early lead after winning the first three challenges, which included driving, short game, and the 14 Club Challenge.

However, Team McIlroy improved in the team relay challenge. Heading into the finale captain’s challenge, Team Scheffler had a two-point lead. The final challenge was also for twenty-two points. The Northern Irish golfer won the challenge, resulting in both teams tied for the lead.

Finally, it was the World No. 1 team that won the event by one inch. In the playoff, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler hit the shot, and the ball rested near the hole almost at the same distance. A tape was needed to measure, and it was finally that Scheffler edged over the World No. 2 by a narrow margin.
