Phil Mickelson receives heartwarming message from legendary NFL quarterback to whom he made a donation

Phil Mickelson received a heartfelt message from former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar after donating $20,000 to his GoFundMe. Kosar, who has been battling Parkinson’s disease and cirrhosis of the liver underwent a successful liver transplant earlier this month.

On the evening of November 20, Kosar took to X to thank Mickelson directly, writing:

“@PhilMickelson I can’t thank u enough Phil for your amazing donation. Call me anytime for anything ⛳️ 💪🏼 #UMatter #RenewingAthletesLives”

Mickelson responded warmly, saying:

“I’m so happy you’re doing well 🙏🙏🙏”

Later that day, Sports commentator McNeil shared a clip from Kosar’s hospital stay in which he expressed his gratitude again:

“Day 3 in the hospital post-delivered transplant. I got to give a great shout out this morning. I got to say great morning, not only am I feeling awesome post this transplant on day 3, but I absolutely got to give an amazing shout out to the awesome Phil Mickelson. Phil, on my GoFundMe, to my surprise, to see the awesome donation by you of $20,000… I can't thank you enough, Phil. Call me brother any time for anything. You so matter.”

Kosar reshared the clip on X, writing:

The transplant on Monday was Kosar’s eighth operation. Earlier this month, he underwent seven procedures to control internal bleeding before doctors could perform the surgery.

He praised Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal for his performance this season. With key players Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton sidelined by injuries, the 24-year-old Vidal has stepped up in their place.
