Tiger Woods has started a tech-infused golf series called TGL in collaboration with Rory McIlroy. The first season was held from January to March. This week, golf analyst Josh Carpenter shared interesting statistics about the viewership of the TGL series, based on data from the National Golf Foundation.The data show that 96 percent of viewers who watched the series were interested in playing golf on a golf course. However, 69 percent of viewers were not even interested in golf sim locations. Around 66 percent of people who were interested in watching the PGA Tour watched the first season of the TGL.The first season of the TGL kickstarted on January 7 with a game between New York Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club. Tiger Woods has not played in any official PGA Tour event this season, but he competed in the TGL series for his team, Jupiter Links GC. The next season of the TGL will start on December 28.Tiger Woods shares an update on playing in TGL season 2This week, Tiger Woods has attended the 2025 Hero World Challenge. The American golfer is the host of the tournament, which is scheduled to take place in the Bahamas.In a pre-tournament press conference, he was asked about his schedule and also if he would be playing in the second season of TGL. Woods said (via Tee Script):"I won't be able to play in the first part of the TGL season but I will be there at every match that Jupiter Links competes in. Now, hopefully that will be able to maybe play at the end of the season here and there, but I don't know. I don't -- I just started chipping and putting. I've got to hit more shots than just chip and putt in TGL. There's a few drives I might have to hit"Woods also talked about his possibility of playing on the PGA Tour Champions in 2026. He said:"I'm just looking forward to just let me get back to playing again, let me do that and then. I'll kind of figure out what the schedule is going to be. I'm a ways away from that part of it and that type of decision, that type of commitment level."Unfortunately, I've been through this rehab process before, it's just step by step. Once I get a feel for practicing, exploding, playing, the recovery process, then I can assess where I'm going to play and how much I'll play," he added.The TGL Season 2 will start on December 28 with a game between the New York Golf Club and the Atlanta Drive GC. However, Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club will play its first game on January 13 against the New York Golf Club.
