Michael Kim opened up about Tiger Woods' swings on social media. The American golfer is hosting this week’s Hero World Challenge, and ahead of the start of the event, he played in a pro-am event on Wednesday. TGR Live shared a video of Woods’ impressive shots at Albany on its X (formerly Twitter) account.

Kim later reshared the video on his social media handle along with a caption in which he candidly reflects on Woods’ shot. He shared advice on the “longer backswing and shorter follow-thru.” He wrote:

"Longer backswing and shorter follow thru is better for speed control. When players have that extended follow thru, u they’re accelerating too much near impact which makes speed control tougher. When I’ve had that longer follow thru, it’s because subconsciously I realize the putter is going too slow and so my mind goes oh no and I try to accelerate to try and get it there. It mostly comes from not having a clear picture of the speed ur trying to hit."

Tiger Woods has been away from the greens for a while. Fans are waiting for his return on the greens, and he was expected to play at the Hero World Challenge. However, he limited his duties as the host of the event.

This week, in a press conference, Woods was asked about his upcoming schedule and his possibility of playing on the PGA Tour Champions. However, he humorously said that he would probably play "25 events” on both tours — the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. He said (via Tee Scripts)

"I'm probably going to play probably 25 events on both tours and I think that should cover most of the year, right?"

However, then the 15-time major winner opened up about his schedule. He said:

"I'm just looking forward to just let me get back to playing again, let me do that and then. I'll kind of figure out what the schedule is going to be. I'm a ways away from that part of it and that type of decision, that type of commitment level. Unfortunately, I've been through this rehab process before, it's just step by step. Once I get a feel for practicing, exploding, playing, the recovery process, then I can assess where I'm going to play and how much I'll play."

Tiger Woods last competed on the PGA Tour at the Open Championship 2024, where he carded two rounds of 79 and 77 and missed the cut. Last season, he played in five events but withdrew from the Genesis Invitational and missed the cut in three of the four majors. He settled in 60th place at the Masters.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Hero World Challenge started with its first round on Thursday, December 4. Akshay Bhatia took the lead in the game in a tie with Sepp Straka, Wyndham Clark, J.J. Spaun, and Scottie Scheffler.
