The professional golfer shared a screenshot of a direct message he received on his Instagram Story. The scammer pretended to know him and referred to him by the name of 'Jonathan,' which Homa found to be hilarious.

Later on in the message, the scammer called the PGA Tour star by the name of 'Rick' after requesting $5,000. The fan went on to send a second text correcting the names he referred to him by.

Will Max Homa keep his PGA Tour card for 2026?

The 2025 RSM Classic is being played from November 20 to 23 at the Sea Island Golf Club's Seaside Course and Plantation Course. Following the tournament in Georgia this week, the top 100 players in the FedEx Cup Fall rankings will retain their PGA Tour cards for the next season.

Max Homa currently sits in the 101st spot on the rankings leaderboard with 531 points. While the top 125 players on the FedEx Cup Fall rankings end up earning conditional status on the PGA Tour after the RSM Classic this week, bearing a full Tour card is the ultimate goal for the American golfer and his fellow competitors.

Another way for Max Homa to be guaranteed his PGA Tour card for the 2026 season is if he emerges victorious in Georgia this week.

A win at the 2025 RSM Classic would be the Californian golfer's first victory of the current season after 24 starts. He has made the cut in 15 tournaments, along with 8 missed cuts and one withdrawal from an event. The 6-time PGA Tour winner has recorded two finishes in the top 10 this year.

Homa's last tournament was in late October at the Bank of Utah Championship. With scores of 70, 66, 66, and 67, he claimed the joint 9th place finish with a total 15 under par 269 score. The finish was his second-best of this season. The commendable performance earned him a whopping $169,500 in Official Earnings.
