Jon Rahm's future in the DP World Tour is still uncertain, as LIV Golf has re-entered discussions with the European Tour. This has come amid the players' ongoing appeal against the Tour's decision.

Jon Rahm joined LIV Golf a couple of years ago and became the biggest-ever signing by the Saudi-backed circuit. While he was immediately suspended by the PGA Tour, he continued playing in a handful of events on the DP World Tour and was also part of the Ryder Cup.

However, Hatton and Rahm had appealed against the fines by the DP World Tour. Notably, the appeal is finally going to be heard in the upcoming months, making the duo's membership uncertain on the European circuit. LIV Golf's CEO recently revealed that he was in talks with the Tour and was looking to find a solution.

"This is something that needs to be settled, and I’m looking forward to that day," he said as per the Telegraph. "We’re having constructive conversations with Guy Kinnings (DP World Tour CEO) and his team. We are hoping that before the season starts, we can all come together in the best interest of golf and put this behind us."

The Spaniard had reiterated in the past that he wasn't planning to pay the fines if the decision came against him.

"I'm not a big fan of the fines," he said last year. "I don’t intend to pay the fines and we keep trying to have a discussion with them about how we can make this happen."

For the uninitiated, LIV Golf was paying the fines for the defected players but has announced it will stop doing this from 2026 onwards. This could affect the likes of Rahm, Hatton and other top names playing on both circuits.

Notably, Rahm played an important role in Europe's successful title defense at the Ryder Cup. He earned 3 points for the team and finished the tournament with a 3-2-0 scoreline.

Jon Rahm successfully defends the LIV Golf individual championship title

Despite not winning a single event, Jon Rahm was able to successfully defend his LIV Golf Individual title, thanks to his consistency throughout the year. He posted a whopping 12 top-ten finishes in thirteen starts, including four runner-up finishes. Following the season's conclusion, he finished with 226 points.

On the other hand, Joaquin Niemann fell short by three points despite posting a whopping five wins. This happened because he had only one top-ten finish outside of these victories.

So far, Jon Rahm has won two titles on the LIV Golf circuit and has claimed significant bonuses by winning back-to-back season-long individual titles.
