Jena Sims shares her idea of ‘self care’ with her Instagram fans

Jena Sims gave her followers a light update on Friday as she shared what “self care” looks like for her these days. The model and entrepreneur, who frequently posts glimpses of her routine for her 336,000 Instagram followers, shared a quick moment from her coffee run.

On November 14, Sims posted an Instagram story from inside her vintage Ford Bronco while waiting in the Starbucks drive-thru. The view showed the storefront ahead as she sat behind the wheel. She added a short caption that summed up the moment:

“Sometimes self care is driving Blue Jean through the Starbucks drive thru.”

“Blue Jean” is her nickname for the Bronco. Sims here basically is saying that taking her car out for a coffee run counts as her little act of self-care.

She shared this update after recently opening up about feeling anxious and stressed. Sims said she has been looking for ways to lower her cortisol levels and mentioned a calming drink powder called Nello SuperCalm that she has been using. She told fans:

“Anxious girlies raise your hand...I have been, rightfully so, stressed, anxious these last couple weeks. One major goal of mine has been to just find ways to lower my cortisol, which is your stress hormone. I've been doing a lot of research on lowering your cortisol. Honestly, the name alone piqued my interest. Super Calm by Nello...I just pull one packet of Super Calm. Tastes amazing, by the way. To a glass of water, and I enjoy.”

Sims appears to be taking time to reset, balancing small personal breaks with her professional commitments. Her update also followed her recent behind-the-scenes glimpses from her SI Swimsuit photoshoot.

Jena Sims returns to SI Swimsuit for her second official shoot

After taking a two-year break from the brand, Jena Sims is back with a new SI Swimsuit beach shoot. She partnered with New York photographer Ben Watts for this session. Watts has worked with major fashion magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Vanity Fair, and he recently shot another SI Swimsuit project in Bermuda.

On November 13, Watts posted new photos of Sims from their Bermuda shoot. She wore four different swimsuits as they shot on the island’s beaches. In his caption, he mentioned the makeup and styling team, which included Cindi Blair, Brian Buenaventura, Jodie Boland and Sev Kalayjian Everitt. He also tagged SI Swimsuit editor MJ Day and Margot Zamet while thanking everyone involved.

This is Sims’ second time working with SI Swimsuit. Her first appearance came in 2024 during a shoot in Mexico with photographer Yu Tsai, which she had called an important new step in her career.
