Following her successful defense at the CME Group Tour Championship, Jeeno Thitikul has revealed her plans to celebrate the success. The Thai star stated that this time she had plans for shopping, after visiting Disney last year.
On Sunday, November 23, Thitikul posted a 4-under 68 in the fourth round to win the CME Group Tour Championship 2025. Following the final round, she finished at 26-under and posted a dominant four-shot win over Pajaree Anannarukarn.
During the post-round press conference, Jeeno Thitikul shared how she was going to celebrate her successful title defense.
"I think I have to definitely shopping," she said. "It's in my head for sure. It's the way of strategy when you earn it then you have to spend it and earn it again. If not you keep it and maybe you can't earn anymore. So definitely going to shopping, but I think I have to give it to my parents some part of it," she added.
Reflecting on her performance, Thitikul said that the win was more than she could have asked for.
"I think earlier of the week I just saying be able to finish four round of golf here just more than I could ask for already, but standing here with the trophy on Sunday, hold the trophy, it's just like more than I really, really could ask for for sure. I mean, like all that work that I put in with my team kind of paid off here today again," she continued.
The 22-year-old golfer has now become only the second player to successfully defend her title at the CME Group Tour Championship. Besides, she also claimed the Vare Trophy for low scoring average and the Rolex Player of the Year award.
Jeeno Thitikul finished with an average of 68.681, smashing Annika Sorenstam's lowest single-season scoring average record. Notably, the World No.1 golfer is only the third player to win the Vare Trophy with a sub-69 scoring average.
