He was spotted playing with a TaylorMade Qi4D driver and fairway woods ahead of the event. He has previously played with a TaylorMade Qi10 driver last year, as well as so far this season. His new driver has a dark blue face.TaylorMade Tour Senior Manager Adrian Rietveld has opened up about Scheffler's color preference with equipment in one of his interviews with Golf Monthly back in July."You could say it's about the brightness of the face, but he doesn't have a topline on the driver, which is different to all of our drivers," he said. "When talking about the face, he likes to see as much of it as he can and that helps him at that low loft. It's set between 7.5° to 7.75° and you can head-sort to get that within the tolerance, so he can have that exact loft that he's always played and looked at."On the PGA Tour, Scottie Scheffler last played at the Procore Championship, where, after carding four rounds of 70, 68, 64, and 67, he registered a win in the game. He started the season at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he was tied for ninth place. He then won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, and then clinched the title at the PGA Championship. This season, Scheffler has won six events, including the Memorial Tournament, The Open Championship, and the BMW Championship.
