Henrik Stenson to rejoin DP World Tour after LIV Golf relegation: Report

As per reports, Henrik Stenson is looking to make a DP World Tour return after getting relegated from LIV Golf. The Swedish legend has reportedly settled fines of over £1 million to regain his European Tour card and might make a return soon.

Stenson is an eleven-time winner on the DP World Tour and has also won the Open Championship. He joined LIV Golf in 2022 and became co-captain of Majesticks GC. However, he slipped to the Drop Zone after underwhelming results this season, and the Saudi-backed circuit changed the rule of retrieving the relegated captains this time.

On Monday, November 17, Bunkered reported that Henrik Stenson had paid his dues to the DP World Tour. For the uninitiated, he had resigned from the Tour's membership in 2023 alongside Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, and Sergio Garcia.

Notably, the Saudi-backed circuit informed the DP World Tour-defected players that they would stop paying the players' fines after this season. This means the players will have to manage themselves if they want to retain their DP World Tour card.

Stenson is one of the co-captains of Majesticks GC, but it's unclear how things will go from here after this latest move. For the uninitiated, neither he nor his team has done anything significant in LIV Golf so far.

Stenson's last start on the European Tour came at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2023, where he played quite well and tied for eighth.
