Cody "Beef" Franke was a former professional golfer who became one of the most popular members of Barstool Sports and served as the Head Golf Professional for the Fore Play Pod. On Monday, the Fore Play Podcast announced the sudden demise of Franke.

"We are beyond devastated to announce that our good friend and cherished Barstool Sports colleague, Cody 'Beef' Franke, passed away from a sudden medical issue over the weekend," the ForePlay podcast wrote on X.

Reacting to the tragic news, Paige Spiranac paid tribute to Franke.

"Heartbreaking news. He was such a kind and good person," she replied.

In a separate note, the Fore Play Podcast paid tribute to their beloved member. They wrote that Cody 'Beef' Franke loved the game of golf and selflessly spent his life helping others improve and enjoy the sport.

"Watching golf bring people happiness brought him happiness, and that infectious personality was felt by everyone who met him," the statement further read. "He was universally known as the nicest guy in the world. From his time as a PGA professional to his time at Barstool Sports, Cody made so many people laugh, he made so many people smile, and he simply made so many people better."

"Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with Cody's entire family and loved ones. We'll be removing our hats for Cody today and every day. Rest in peace to the classiest man we knew," the official statement read.

Golf world pays tribute to Cody 'Beef' Franke's passing

The passing of Cody 'Beef' Franke has shocked the golf fraternity, and tributes have been pouring in since the news was announced. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy wrote that it was hard to process this.

"Barstool lost a member of our family this weekend. Just tragic news. You will never find a nicer more genuine person than Beef. It’s hard to even process it right now. Just another cruel reminder that tomorrow is never promised and to live each day to its fullest. #Ripbeef," he wrote.

Dan Rapaport of Skratch also reacted to the passing of his former colleague.

"Beyond horrible. Lit up a room with his kindness. RIP ❤️," he wrote.

Meanwhile, the PGA of America also eulogized the 31-year-old.

"Beef's kind, genuine and warm personality was what made him so great to be around. We were lucky to have worked with him on countless projects this year and will miss his terribly. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends. ❤️," PGA of America wrote on X.
