"It's quite funny because actually I was changing my swing las week and I come on Tuesday and I could not even keep the ball on the planet. So I was actually pretty nervous today.......he's going to think I'm rubbish but actually it worked out really well.
Brennan also opened up about Hull's performance. He said:
"Charley played amazing. I was really playing poorly the last couple days and I was worried last night. I was like, man, we might make some bogeys out there today. I hit a couple squirrely tee balls early, but then Charley was just so solid, made a couple huge putts early in the round and we just kind of got rolling from there."
Charley Hull and Michael Brennan settled at 17 under in a lead alongside Lexi Thompson and Wyndham Clark. This week’s field features some top-ranked players from the LPGA Tour and the PGA Tour.
Nelly Korda teed it up with Denny McCarthy, and the duo settled in a tie for fourth place after the first round. Jason Day and Lydia Ko are also playing this week.
