"The @cmegrouptourchamp will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you to Terry Duffy and @cmegroup for really making a difference in women’s golf by putting on a world class event. Thank you to all the other sponsors, volunteers and fans this week for making it possible. Also big thanks to all the staff at @tiburonnaples for having the golf course in great shape and treating us so well ! We appreciate you 👏🏼. Going into the week I can’t say my body was up to playing with some pains I’ve been dealing with, but no excuses and I’m happy with how I pushed through and had a top 20 finish. I’m excited to go back in two weeks for the @grantthorntoninv ☺️ time to take a few days off and get the body feeling better."

In the post-tournament press conference, Lexi Thompson revealed that the pain she was experiencing this week during the 2025 CME Group Tour Championship was the result of an injury to her left hip.

Despite not feeling the best physically, the American golfer posted a 72-hole score of 11 under par and tied for 19th place with six other golfers, including Charley Hull and Maja Stark.

Here's a look at what the 30-year-old had to say (via ASAP Sports):

"It might have added up to a few more than I wanted to, but I knew that I wasn't going to play a full schedule. I mean, I don't play 35 events. I don't play a full schedule ever. I usually do play around 20 to 22. I knew I was going to at least cut that in half. There is some events that I thoroughly just enjoy playing in the atmosphere, whether it's the golf course. Even if the golf course doesn't set up right sometimes the hospitality at events make it that much better."

The World No. 77 golfer played 13 tournaments on the LPGA Tour this year and made the cut in 9 events. Having recorded two finishes in the top 10, she made $759.7 thousand in Official Earnings over the season.
