The 29-year-old made the announcement through the official AIG Women’s Open website and its Instagram page. Hall revealed that she is expecting a baby boy, with the due date set for early in the New Year. She has not competed since finishing tied for 25th at the PIF London Championship in August.

Speaking about the news, Hall said the experience will change how she looks at both life and golf.

“It will bring a different purpose and view on my golf as a whole. [I've been] playing on tour for over 10 years, just [thinking about] me, quite selfishly … now, having a family … it will be nice having a son to come and watch, and to see him there.”

Georgia Hall won her only major title at the 2018 Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes. The venue will host the championship again in 2026, scheduled from July 30 to August 2, and Hall has her sights set on being part of the field. She said she is hoping to return to competition around June, provided everything goes smoothly.

“Obviously I've never been through any of this so hopefully if it all goes OK. I'm looking at coming back around June time, maybe late June and obviously for me to come back and play where I won in 2018 is very special and I don’t want to miss it for a number of reasons. That's been my main focus and why I'm coming back so soon.”

The announcement comes five months after Georgia Hall revealed her engagement to DP World Tour winner Paul Dunne. Dunne, who competed on the Clutch Pro Tour and HotelPlanner Tour in 2024 has recently been seen supporting Hall in a new role as her caddie.

Georgia Hall previously praised Dunne’s role as her caddie

Georgia Hall has already spent time competing with her fiancé, Paul Dunne, on the bag. Dunne caddied for Hall at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, where she finished the week tied for 37th.

Before the event Georgia Hall spoke positively about having Dunne alongside her on the course. He had already been working as her caddie for around six months by that point which helped make the partnership feel natural.

“It’s nice to have someone who has been under pressure in certain situations and obviously he is from here he has played this course a hundred times so I think I have got a great addition to the team,” Hall said, via Irish Golfer.

She also spoke about how he helped her game especially on links courses.

“We get along great and he has been a huge asset to my team especially to the links part of my game he has added a tremendous amount of creativity. We just have such a good time together, he is such a nice genuine guy.”

Dunne is a former DP World Tour winner, having claimed the 2017 British Masters ahead of Rory McIlroy. He also held the 54-hole lead at The Open Championship at St Andrews in 2015 while still an amateur. His professional career was later affected by a wrist injury and a dip in form, and he has not played on the DP World Tour since 2022.
