Cameron Smith's 2025 season hasn't panned out the way he would have expected. Last Friday, the LIV Golfer missed the cut at the Australian PGA Championship. This naturally was a setback since Smith was playing in his country.

However, what makes the whole story a bit more bothersome is that Smith has missed the cut in all four Major championships he played as well. After his campaign at the Australian PGA Championship ended, Smith expressed his frustration and seemed clueless.

In a conversation with Australian Golf Digest, Cameron Smith said:

“It can definitely get in your head, I think it is in my head, It’s just frustrating. It’s been my story of the year, feel I’ve worked hard all year and got nothing out of it. I do know what the answer is, it’s just to keep working hard and try to be patient. I’ve tried to do all the right stuff, for whatever reason it’s not coming together on the course.”

Cameron Smith's recent slump in performance has been a shock for golf fans around the world. At one point in his career, Smith was ranked No. 2 in the world and enjoyed many famous victories. Sadly, however, the 32-year-old seems to struggle making the cut as of today.

In his conversation with Australian Golf Digest, Smith expressed excitement about the tournament but also said he won't be traveling to Melbourne early despite missing the cut. He said:

“I’m due to Melbourne Monday anyway, which is plenty of time. I’ve played a lot of golf down there. I feel like I don’t need to rush.”

Smith also shared his thoughts on how the event would be. He added:

“I was already excited to be there really; it’s going to be a great event, starting to come into its own and I’m excited to get down there and give it a crack."

The Australian Open is one tournament Cameron Smith has never won in his professional golf career. While Smith might be going through a rough patch on the golf course, one can never truly count him out. For all you know, the Australian Open is where the LIV Golfer redeems himself.
