Paige Spiranac found herself in a cheating controversy at the 2025 Internet Invitational. The American popular golf influencer is playing in a six-episode golf series featuring content creators.On Thursday, Barstool Sports shared a video of Spiranac on its X (formerly Twitter) from the recent episode of the Internet Invitational in which she was seen pushing down the long grass before taking her shot.The contestants discussed the Paige Spiranac shot. However, her team lost on the hole, but towards the end of the video, the contestants asked her if she had tried to improve her lie. In response, Spiranac said that she thought they could do that, and emphasized that she did not try to cheat. She also said that she didn't improve the lie as she did not move the ball.“I thought we could do that. I didn’t realize that you couldn’t do that. … I didn’t think I improved the lie. Spiranac is pretty active on social media and has around 1.1 million followers on her X account.Spiranac these days is not playing golf as a professional. Before appearing at the Internet Invitational, she had played in the Creator Classic, a PGA Tour event for the golf influencers.
