Last week witnessed the Hero World Challenge and the the Australian Open garnering fan attention with big stalwarts. Despite being a non-official event, the Hero World Challenge ended up offering more ranking points than Australian Open.

On Sunday, December 7, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen posted a one-shot win over Cameron Smith to claim the Australian Open. On the other hand, Hideki Matsuyama clinched the Hero World Challenge in a thrilling playoff against Alex Noren.

Billy Horschel, who finished 15th in the 20-man field at Albany bagged 2.34871 points. On the other hand, Rory McIlroy earned just 1.9 points despite tying for 14th in the bigger field at Royal Melbourne.

This was the case for most names in the field of both the events, as Hideki Matsuyama bagged 30.30595 points and moved up three spots to 17th for winning the non-official event. On the other hand Australian Open champ Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen earned just 20.70118 points but moved to 51st from 82nd.
