Charley Hull and Michael Brennan teamed up for this week’s Grant Thornton Invitational. The tournament started with its first round on Friday, and the duo took the lead in the event.In the post-round press conference, Hull and Brennan candidly opened up about their performance, and toward the end, the English golfer received a guest question from her niece, Pearl. Her 12-year-old niece asked her if she was having fun playing this week. The LPGA Tour pro answered the question. She said:"We're having really loads of fun. Are you having fun?""I'm having a lot of fun," Brennan replied.Hull also said that she was enjoying her niece’s one-liners. She added:"We're having more fun listening to your one-liners, you crack us up."Charley Hull and Michael Brennan played the opening round of 17-under and tied for the lead with Wyndham Clark and Lexi Thompson. She spoke about her performance and also reflected on changes in her swing. She said (via Tee Scripts):"It's quite funny because actually I was changing my swing las week and I come on Tuesday and I could not even keep the ball on the planet. So I was actually pretty nervous today. Actually, it worked out pretty well.Michael Brennan also talked about Hull’s game. He said:"Charley played amazing. I was really playing poorly the last couple days and I was worried last night. I was like, man, we might make some bogeys out there today. I hit a couple squirrely tee balls early, but then Charley was just so solid, made a couple huge putts early in the round and we just kind of got rolling from there."Earlier this year on the LPGA Tour, Charley Hull won the Kroger Queen City Championship and is now looking forward to another win. She has had a memorable time playing on the LPGA Tour this season so far.She played in 16 tournaments and made the cut in 14 of them. She missed the cut at The Chevron Championship and later withdrew from the Amundi Evian Championship.In her last outing at the CME Group Tour Championship, she carded rounds of 69, 69, 68, and 71 to finish in a T19 position. Some of her other notable finishes include T4 at The ANNIKA, T2 at the AIG Women’s Open, T12 at the U.S. Women’s Open, T12 at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, and T4 at the HSBC Women’s World Championship.
