Alfred Dunhill Championship Day 3 update: Conditions explored as play resumes at Royal Johannesburg

The Alfred Dunhill Championship was affected by inclement weather on Saturday, Dec. 13. The DP World Tour event is taking place at the Royal Johannesburg Club in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The tournament started on Thursday, Dec. 11; however, on Saturday, play was suspended due to a flooded course. It is scheduled to resume at 10:30 a.m. local time.

According to AccuWeather, cloudy conditions with thunderstorms were expected in parts of Johannesburg on Saturday. There was a high chance of rainfall in the afternoon, with humidity around 80 percent.

As per the DP World Tour’s official website, there is a 70 percent chance of rain around 10 a.m. Rain was expected to become heavier in the afternoon, with a possibility of thunderstorms as well.

The third round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship was delayed. Meanwhile, after two rounds, Eugenio Chacarra is the leader. He sits at 15 under par after rounds of 63 and 66. Jayden Schaper is in solo second place at 13 under, just two strokes behind the leader.

Louis Oosthuizen is also in the field this week at the Alfred Dunhill Championship. He started the tournament with an opening round of 67 and followed it up with a 68 on Friday. Play is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, Dec. 14.
