The second tournament of the DP World Tour's 2026 season, The Australian Open, will be starting off from December 4. This season's event will be hosted by the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, with 128 golfers competing for a total prize purse of $1.3 million.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding this tournament, as many big names have been announced to compete. Fans may also see LIV Golfers show off their magical skill in this competition, and here are 5 LIV Golfers to keep an eye on:
5 best LIV Golfers playing in the 2026 Australian Open
#5 Abraham Ancer

Abraham Ancer has been qualified for the 2026 Australian Open as a past tournament champion. He won this event in 2018, which was held at The Lakes in Sydney. Ancer is currently in terrific form, having finished tied for 33rd place at the Australian PGA Championship, making him one of the favourites to win the entire thing.
#4 Jose Luis Ballester

Jose Luis Ballester, better known as Josele Ballester, has been competing on the LIV Golf circuit since July 2025, but his contract has not prevented him from playing excellent golf on the DP World Tour. Ballester will compete in the Australian Open after receiving a special invitation from the tour.
The Spanish golfer has been in terrific form recently, finishing in the top ten at the Australian PGA Championship with a total score of 11 under par.
#3 Sebastián Muñoz

Juan Sebastián Muñoz has also received a special invitation to play in the 2025 Australian Open, joining other LIV golfers. Muñoz has a PGA Tour win in his bag, which makes him bring a calm presence to the Royal Melbourne Golf Club. The 32-year-old golfer even had a strong performance at the Australian PGA Championship, finishing tied for 14th place with a total score of 10 under par.
#2 Carlos Ortiz

Carlos Ortiz, a member of Torque GC on LIV Golf, is one of the few golfers to have won tournaments on both LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. He has also been invited to play in this year's Australian Open, and Ortiz could pose a threat to other golfers if he finds his rhythm on the course.
The Mexican golfer has recently been in good form, finishing the Australian PGA Championship with a total score of 8 under par, tied for 25th position.
#1 Joaquin Niemann

Joaquin Niemann, who won five LIV Golf tournaments in a single season, will also be present at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club for this tournament. Niemann has won this tournament before (2023) and is the odds-on favourite to do so again this season. While there is a lot of anticipation for him, the Chilean golfer has lately been going through a rough patch.
Unfortunately, Niemann did not make the cut at the Australian PGA Championship, finishing with an even par after 36 holes.
