Scottie Scheffler became the world number one after he won the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play in 2022. He had maintained the ranking for a few months back then, but slipped to second place after the 2022 CJ Cup in South Carolina. He settled in the T45 position in the tournament.

In 2023, he won the WM Phoenix Open and regained the world number one title, but slipped down to second after his T12 finish at the Genesis Invitational 2023. He has dominated in the world and maintained the top position after the 2023 PGA Championship. He settled in second place in the event and jumped to number one in the world.

Scottie Scheffler settled T4 at the Hero World Challenge

Scottie Scheffler played at the recently concluded 2025 Hero World Challenge. He started the campaign with an opening round of 66 and then carded the next three rounds of 69, 65, and 68 and settled in T4 position.

In the post-round press conference, Scheffler talked about his performance. He said (via Tee Scripts):

"I played better than my score, for sure. Didn't hole as many putts today. I felt like I hit some good ones that didn't fall and I got a couple poor breaks on the back nine. Yeah, that's how it shook out."

"......I did a lot of good stuff. Hit the ball pretty nice. Definitely need to be sharper around the greens, but that's probably a bit of rust. But coming down here is always a good gauge to kind of see where you are around the greens because it's pretty challenging, so felt pretty good," he added.

Notably, Scottie Scheffler has started the 2025 season with a solid T9 finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am event. He had some marvelous finishes throughout this season, which include T3 at the Genesis Invitational, solo fourth at the Masters, and T8 at the RBC Heritage.

He won the CJ Byron Nelson and then the PGA Championship. He also clinched the title at the Memorial Tournament, The Open Championship, BMW Championship, and the Procore Championship this year.
