3x European Tour winner dubs Tyrrell Hatton a 'wizard' after Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship outing together

Three-time Europe Tour winner Marco Penge opened up about playing with Tyrrell Hatton on social media. They competed at the recently concluded Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and had decent finishes.

Following the completion of the tournament, DP World Tour shared a video Hatton shot on its X (formerly Twitter) account. The clip was reshared by Penge with a caption in which he reflected on watching Hatton play at the event. He wrote:

"I had the pleasure of watching it the first 2 days and the guys a wizard"

Marco Penge had played the first two rounds at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in a group with Tyrrell Hatton and Rory McIlroy. He had an amazing outing and settled in a tie for ninth place.

Penge started his campaign with an opening round of 67 and then played the next three rounds of 68, 70, and 63. Meanwhile, Tyrrell Hatton started the game with an opening round of 66 but then had a tough time on the greens in the second round. He carded 72.

However, he bounced back with a round of 64 in the third round. Speaking of his third-round performance, Hatton said (via ASAP Sports):

"Got off to a pretty amazing start, which was really nice after yesterday's finish. So yeah, I was delighted with that. Struggled a little bit through the middle in terms of not holing putts to keep momentum going. And then yeah, finally made a putt on 14. Nice one on 16. Missed a good chance on 17, which would be nice to get to 10-under standing on 18."

The 27-year-old played the final two rounds of 64 and 75 to settle in at T-41 place.


Tyrrell Hatton shares his excitement to play at the DP World Tour Championship

The next stop for Tyrrell Hatton is the 2025 DP World Tour Championship, which will take place this week in Dubai. After the conclusion of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, he shared a few pictures of his outing on his Instagram account, and in the caption, he shared his excitement for his next outing. He wrote:

Tyrrell Hatton has been enjoying an impressive time playing on the DP World Tour this season. He started the campaign with a win at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, where he carded four rounds of 71, 65, 68, and 69.

He then had a tough time playing at the Amgen Irish Open, where he was tied for 42nd place. The English golfer then settled in T5 at the BMW PGA Championship, where he carded the four rounds of 69, 70, 64, and 70.

Hatton was close to winning the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship but settled in solo second place. Aside from his DP World Tour outing, he had some decent finishes on the LIV Golf, which include T6 in Riyadh, T5 in Mexico City, T5 in Dallas, and T21 in the UK.
