24-yo Yuta Sugiura projected to beat Brooks Koepka and 44 others after Japan Golf Tour win

Yuta Sugiura had won the 2025 ACN Championship golf tournament. He registered a three-stroke win on the Japan Tour event and is projected to jump 45 spots in the Official World Golf Rankings.

He is expected to jump to around 220th position in the Official World Golf Rankings from 265th place and can beat Brooks Koepka, who is ranked 229th. The American golfer is enjoying time away from the greens these days following the conclusion of the LIV Golf 2025 season.

OWGR guru Nosferatu shared an update on Yuta Sugiura’s OWGR in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

"Congrats to 24yo Yuta Sugiura, for his 3rd win on the Japan Golf Tour. He should jump somewhere around ~#220 in the world rankings... #OWGR"

Yuta Sugiura started his campaign at the ACN Championship Golf Tournament with an opening round of 67. He then played a round of 65, followed by another round of 68. Naoyuki Kataoka settled in second place in a tie with Takashi Ogiso, Shu Fukuzumi, Tatsunori Shogenji, and Shugo Imahira at 10 under.

Earlier this year, Sugiura had recorded some impressive finishes on the Japan Golf Tour. He was runner-up at the Lopia Fujisankei Classic, T5 at the Gateway to the Open Mizuno Open, and T3 at the Japan PGA Championship.
