Starlink is coming to India for both personal and industrial users. The company promises high-speed internet access in the most remote areas of the country, regardless of the weather conditions. While the product's pricing remains debatable, Starlink's partnership with the Maharashtra government for rural connectivity is expected to provide stable connectivity to many Indians.
Below, we have detailed everything about Starlink's arrival in India, including its pricing and plans. Read on to learn more.
Starlink in India: The pricing and the free trial period
Starlink has announced its pricing for Indian consumers. According to the official website, the company will charge INR 8,600/month for unlimited data. This plan includes a 30-day free trial and a guaranteed uptime of more than 99.9%.
The hardware will cost INR 34,000 during installation. However, the company has yet to announce the price for its business plan in the country.

The Elon Musk-led company had been waiting to obtain permissions since 2022. The space regulator of India finally cleared it in July 2025. The Indian government has yet to announce whether it will allocate satellite spectrum to existing players, including Starlink, or hold an auction.
Once the spectrum is secured, the company will be required to set up infrastructure and conduct security tests and trials. According to current information, Starlink has restarted its hiring process in October 2025 and has been running technical demos and security tests since then.
In November 2025, the Maharashtra government became the first Indian state government to sign up with the US-based operator. According to the state's Chief Minister, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, the collaboration will bring satellite internet services to government bodies, rural areas, and crucial public infrastructure.

The Department of Telecommunications in India has given clearance to three companies to proceed with the satellite communication services. These are the Eutelsat OneWeb, backed by the Bharti group, Jio's satellite arm, and Starlink. So, Starlink might face tough competition in the Indian market.
Furthermore, while Starlink might be a great option for frequent travellers and heavy industries, INR 8,600/month is quite high for users in India's rural areas. However, it seems like an exciting leap forward.
