Performance
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite (3 nm) chipset, bringing flagship-level performance to the company’s first tri-fold device. This makes it excellent for high-end gaming, AI tasks, and other demanding workloads.
The device ships with 16 GB RAM and storage options of 512 GB or 1 TB, ensuring smooth multitasking and ample space for large media files and productivity apps.
Display and design

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold features a unique inward-folding design with two hinges. When fully unfolded, you get a 10.0-inch QXGA+ display that gives users a huge canvas for multitasking, creative work, and gaming. However, when folded, the cover screen offers a 6.5-inch FHD+ display, which is great for standard everyday use.
Despite having three screens, the device measures only 3.9 mm when unfolded and 12.9 mm when folded. Both displays feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, delivering vivid colors and reaching high levels of brightness.
The main unfolded screen reaches 1600 nits peak brightness. Meanwhile, the folded cover screen reaches 2600 nits peak brightness. This means both screens are easily visible in bright environments. Both displays also support a 120 Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals for gaming.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold packs a triple-lens rear camera setup (200 MP main sensor, 10 MP telephoto lens, 12 MP ultrawide lens). This makes it a versatile camera for high-res pictures and wide-angle landscapes.
For selfies, the device includes two 10 MP ultrawide cameras, one on the cover display and another on the main display. In terms of video, the camera supports up to 8K video at 30fps and up to 4K video at 60fps.
Battery life
Samsung has fitted the Galaxy Z TriFold with its largest foldable battery yet: a 5,600 mAh unit. This allows the device to deliver balanced power and all-day endurance. While real-world metrics are yet to be tested, the combination of efficient hardware and design suggests the phone should comfortably last a full day of use.
Price
The official US price of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold hasn't been disclosed yet. However, based on its Korean retail price of KRW 3,594,000, the estimated cost is slightly over $2,500. This makes it one of the most expensive folding phones on the market.
All in all, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold represents the company’s most ambitious attempt yet to merge a phone, tablet, and productivity device into one. It is designed to deliver flagship performance in a portable form factor.
However, being a first-gen model, it does have its drawbacks. The most noticeable is the visible crease near the hinges, which is apparent even in images. Another catch is its steep price tag, which may limit its appeal to some users.
