Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly pushing AC Milan to sign Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski. The Swedish legend, who works in a senior advisory position for the Serie A club owners, believes the Polish star would be a great addition to the squad.
According to a report in Sky Sports (via Barca Blaugranes), AC Milan are looking to bring in a striker next summer, and Lewandowski's name is the latest to be suggested to the board. Ibrahimovic has backed the signing and is pushing the Italian side to seal the deal.
Lewandowski is yet ot decide on his future, and is in the final months of his contract at Barcelona. The club have yet to offer him a new deal, but the Polish star remains calm about his situation. He told GOAL:
"I still don't know the answer. That's why I'm not in a hurry, I'm at peace with myself. And that is the most important thing. Even if, for example, the club contacted me now, I still wouldn't answer that question. Because I also have to feel what's best for me. Now I'm calm, I'm not in a hurry and, at the moment, I don't expect anything else."
His agent, Pini Zahavi, also spoke about the striker's future, saying nothing has been decided. They are not ruling out an extension at the Catalan side and said (via Barca Blaugranes):
“Lewandowski’s contract with Barcelona expires in the summer of 2026, and there are no decisions regarding that at the moment. We have to wait and see what happens in the coming days."
AC Milan are not alone in the chase for Lewandowski, with Al-Nassr also keeping tabs on the striker's situation. The Saudi Pro League side are looking to bolster their attack and add firepower to the Cristiano Ronaldo-led squad.
Too early to talk about Robert Lewandowski's future at Barcelona, said Hansi Flick
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was quizzed about Robert Lewandowski's future at the club this month, and the German refused to comment. He said it was too early to think about next season and said (via Mundo Deportivo):
“It’s too early to talk about Lewandowski’s season next year. What I can say is that after his injury, I’ve seen a different Robert: positive, confident, and it’s very important for us that he scored three goals.”
Lewandowski joined Barcelona from €50 million Bayern Munich in 2022, and reports suggest the Catalan side is looking at Harry Kane as a possible replacement.
