Real Madrid are eyeing a shock swoop for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Yang Min-Hyeok to bolster their attack, as per reports. The Spanish giants are set to target reinforcements as they anticipate life without one or both of Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo.

A report from Defensa Central (via TNT Sports) has revealed that Los Blancos are keeping close tabs on South Korea international Yang. Xabi Alonso's side have yet to agree on a new deal for Vinicius Jr, and Rodrygo has been attracting interest from the Premier League.

Pacey forward Yang joined Tottenham Hotspur from Gangwon FC in the 2024, and quickly headed out on loan to gain experience. He is on the books of League One strugglers Portsmouth, where he has scored twice and provided an assist, and on 15 games across all competitions.

Real Madrid want to stay ahead of player situations, particularly with Vinicius Jr's contract extension talks not going exactly to plan. Their interest in Yang Min-Hyeok will see them provide cover for the first-team and Castilla, as well, as the young South Korean will be eligible for their youth team.

Tottenham Hotspur have high hopes in Yang being the next Son Heung-Min, hence the decision to send him a couple of levels down to League One. They are considering cutting short his loan spell at Portsmouth to allow him move elsewhere in the EFL and play regularly. The Spanish outfit may make a move to sign the young forward next month and beef up their squad options for the second half of the season.

Kylian Mbappe closes in on Cristiano Ronaldo record for Real Madrid

French striker Kylian Mbappe is close to matching Cristiano Ronaldo's record from his time at Real Madrid. The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) man was at the double for the Spanish giants in their Copa Del Rey Round of 32 win over CD Talavera on Wednesday night.

Mbappe notched two goals to take his tally for the season to 27 goals in only 26 appearances across all competitions. He has now scored 58 goals for Los Blancos in this calendar year, the most a player has scored for the club in a calendar year since Cristiano Ronaldo's 59 goals in 2013.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring against the stubborn Talavera side with a goal from the penalty spot in the first half. He scored again late in the day, beating the goalkeeper from outside the box to net for the 58th time in a Real Madrid shirt this year. He will have one more match against Sevilla to try and eclipse Ronaldo's record at the club this weekend.
