Real Madrid are reportedly interested in adding Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot to strengthen their ageing defence in the future.

Los Blancos, who lifted the La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League trophy last term, are currently on the hunt for a new right-back. So far, they have reportedly earmarked Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tottenham Hotspur ace Pedro Porro as two transfer targets.

Now, according to Spanish website Relevo, Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Dalot's situation at the Red Devils. They have asked about the full-back's potential availability and have been told to dish out over £41 million to finalise a deal.

Should Dalot secure a permanent move to Real Madrid next year, he could prove to be a fine signing for them. He would likely displace both Daniel Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez down their pecking order and emerge as a regular starter.

Meanwhile, Dalot could also prove to be a fine asset for Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti owing to his versatility. He is adept at playing as a left-back and could pop up as a rotational option behind Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.

Since arriving from Porto for around £19 million in the summer of 2018, the Real Madrid target has helped Manchester United lift two trophies. The 25-year-old has registered six goals and 12 assists in 177 overall outings for his current club.

Alan Shearer lauds Manchester United winger

Earlier this Sunday (December 1), Manchester United registered a 4-0 Premier League victory over Everton at Old Trafford. Amad Diallo turned heads after assisting two goals from a right wing-back role in Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3 system.

Speaking recently on The Rest Is Football, England and Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer lauded the left-footed winger for his recent performance. He said (h/t Metro):

"Amad Diallo was absolutely outstanding on the right-hand side. He was fantastic, player of the match, a constant threat. His work-rate, his attitude, his understanding of what his manager wants from him in that position is brilliant."

Shearer, who is a one-time Premier League winner, concluded:

"Everton got in so many good positions in the first 20 minutes but their final ball wasn't there. Then once United got the first one, Everton sort of caved in. It was a good performance in the end from United. Other than the first 20 minutes, they were very good."

Diallo, 22, has bagged three goals and contributied five assists in 19 overall outings, including 11 starts, for Manchester United in the ongoing season.
