Real Madrid have been dealt a major injury blow as defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is set for around two months on the sidelines, as per reports. The England international picked up an injury in his side's 3-0 win over Athletic Club despite after a key role in the triumph.

According to journalist Arancha Rodriguez (via @MadridXtra on X), Alexander-Arnold has played his last game of the year 2025. He is expected to return to action sometime in February 2026 after he was forced off early in the second half at the San Mames home of Athletic Club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has endured a stop-start campaign since joining Real Madrid from Liverpool in the summer, and the match against Athletic Club was only his eighth in LaLiga. He spent over a month out injured in September due to a hamstring problem.

Alexander-Arnold had to come off in the 55th minute of the 3-0 win after appearing to injure his thigh following an awkward landing as he made a pass. The 27-year-old recorded his first assist of the league season for Kylian Mbappe's opener before providing a pinpoint cross from which Mbappe assisted their second goal.

Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso will turn to Raul Asencio and Federico Valverde to provide cover in the right-back position while Alexander-Arnold remains out. Club captain Dani Carvajal is also yet to recover from arthroscopic knee surgery he underwent in October, and could return to action by January.

Real Madrid star doubtful for Celta Vigo clash: Reports

Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is a doubt for his side's LaLiga meeting with Celta Vigo at the Bernabeu this weekend, as per reports. The France international was among the goals for Los Blancos as they cruised past Athletic Club 3-0 in their league meeting on Wednesday evening.

Camavinga started the game for the Spanish giants in midfield but was forced off shortly after the hour mark with an ankle problem. According to COPE (via @MadridXtra) the Frenchman only suffered a mild ankle sprain and is in contention to feature against Celta Vigo at the weekend.

Arda Guler came on to replace former Rennes man Camavinga, who opened his account in LaLiga in the win over the Basque outfit, scoring his side's second goal. The 23-year-old was perfectly placed to apply a close-range finish to a header across the face of goal from compatriot Kylian Mbappe in the closing stages of the first half.
