Manchester United could reportedly include Marcus Rashford in a swap deal for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Bradley Barcola. The Englishman, who is on loan at Barcelona, is set to leave Old Trafford permanently next summer.

Rashford had a falling out with current Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim last year. He was sent on loan to Aston Villa in January this year, before he joined Barcelona on a season-long loan in the summer. The Blaugrana have a buy option of around €30 million.

However, as per former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, PSG are also interested in signing Rashford. They could look to make a swap deal with Manchester United, as Wyness told Football Insider:

"Well, the interesting news and development on that story is that PSG are claiming to be coming in here, and there could be some sort of player swap deal with Bradley Barcola, which makes sense, I think, for United. “He’s obviously a lot younger, was he? About 23, I think. And if they were to get Rashford and a player swap, that would, I think, suit United more than releasing him at the pretty low level, I think, that Barcelona had got, which is going to be about 30 million from memory.

"Now, the player’s point of view, I think Rashford would much prefer to stay at Barca. I think he’s happy, but PSG is not exactly the worst option. And I think he could be spoilt for choice there. And I think there could be a bidding war in terms of least wages being offered to Rashford,” he added.

Barcola, 23, joined PSG from Olympique Lyon in 2023 and has recorded 31 goals and 33 assists in 121 games for them.

Wojciech Szczesny hails on-loan Manchester United star Marcus Rashford

Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny heaped praise on Marcus Rashford in an interview in October this year. He said that the on-loan Manchester United star trains well and deserves more goals than he has scored.

The Polish goalkeeper said:

"He’s an excellent player, I love him a lot. Direct in his play, attacks with speed, and he’s contributed to a lot of goals. I think he’s a complete player, and I remember him since he was 18 or 19 in the Premier League. I knew he was special back then."
“He has fewer goals than he deserves, because in training, when he’s having a good day, you can’t stop him. If he shows that magical right foot more in matches, he’ll be very dangerous,” he added.

Rashford has scored six goals and provided 10 assists in 20 games across competitions for Barcelona.
