Mohamed Salah alleged in a viral interview after the Leeds United game last weekend that he was being thrown under the bus by the club in recent weeks. He also stated that he had no relationship with Slot as opposed to how they used to be previously.

The former Chelsea man was left on the bench for the 3-3 draw at Elland Road, having also been named on the bench in each of their last two games. He has played just 45 minutes in their last three league games, leading to pent-up frustration from the star forward.

Liverpool decided to leave the forward out of their squad for the UEFA Champions League meeting with Inter Milan at the San Siro in mid-week. The Reds won 1-0 in Italy thanks to a late penalty from Dominik Szoboszlai while their talismanic forward remained in Merseyside.

Salah revealed in his interview that he has asked his family to travel down for the game against Brighton despite being unsure of whether he would feature. He will travel to Morocco for the commencement of the AFCON after the game against the Seagulls, and talks over his future would continue at the club in his absence.

Arne Slot responds to question about Salah's Liverpool future

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has responded to questions about the future of superstar forward Mohamed Salah in his press conference. The Dutch tactician faced reporters in the traditional press conference ahead of the meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield on Saturday.

Slot was asked if he thinks that his star forward would be looking to leave the club soon. He revealed that he looked forward to a conversation with the Egypt international as he has no reasons to want him to leave the club.

“Like I said, that’s just another way of asking, but the next time I talk about Mo should be with him. I have no reasons not wanting him to stay. I’ll say that, if it it’s a little bit of an answer to your question", he said (via Liverpool Offside).

Salah has scored 250 goals in 420 appearances for the Reds since joining from AS Roma in 2017. The forward led the Premier League in goals and assists, setting a new record for most goal contributions in a single league season as the Reds won the league in the 2024-25 season.
