Liverpool manager Arne Slot is reportedly keen on signing Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram. This is as per a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that the player himself is happy with his current Serie A side (via Sport Witness).
The France international is contracted with the Nerazzurri till the summer of 2028 and is said to have a release clause worth €85 million on his current deal. Despite that, it seems as though the striker wishes to aid Simone Inzaghi's side reach new heights.
The 27-year-old has been prolific for Inter so far this campaign, bagging eight goals and five assists in 15 matches across competitions. He's a versatile forward who can play down the middle and operate on the left-hand side.
These links to Merseyside may seem a bit surprising given the number of attackers that Liverpool have within their squad. The likes of Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo are all capable of playing in the number nine position. Meanwhile, Luis Diaz and Federico Chiesa, among others, will be fighting for minutes down the left-hand side.
That being said, the Reds' current form could tempt any top player around the world. Currently, Slot and Co. are top of the Premier League standings, five points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
Thuram's Inter have also enjoyed a fairly decent start to the new campaign. They find themselves fourth in the Serie A table, only a point behind leaders Napoli.
Former Arsenal star believes Gunners must sign Liverpool striker

Ex-Arsenal star Jeremie Aliadiere believes that the Gunners must look to sign Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez. The north Londoners are currently without an out-and-out number nine, with Kai Havertz leading the line.
Keeping this in mind, the Gunners have been linked with a number of strikers, including Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres. Speaking to F365, Aliadiere said (via Just Arsenal):
“I know he is at Liverpool, but I am a massive fan of Darwin Nunez. Absolutely mad fan of the guy because I love his work ethic, his runs, and his determination. I wish we had a player like him at Arsenal. I remember in the summer there were some talks about him coming. That excited me because I’d love to see him with us."
Nunez moved to Liverpool from Benfica in the summer of 2022 for a reported fee of €85 million. Since then, he's made 110 appearances for the Reds, bagging 36 goals and 19 assists.
