Barcelona are reportedly facing competition for the signature of former Leganes star Yan Diomande from Premier League sides. Currently playing for Leipzig, Diomande has seen his stock rise at the club and has taken the Bundesliga by storm in his debut campaign.
In November, Bild reported that Diomande had caught the attention of Barcelona manager Hansi Flick and was a player the Spanish giants are monitoring. However, the latest development suggests that the young winger now has other admirers apart from Barcelona.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Yan Diomande is on the radar of Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, and several other Premier League clubs. However, there are no concrete talks taking place between the player’s camp and any club in particular. The 19-year-old’s contract doesn’t have a release clause in it, and as such, Leipzig will reportedly seek a fee of over €100 million to sell the player.
In 15 appearances so far this season, Diomande has registered 11 goal contributions and sits joint-sixth in the Bundesliga scoring chart. He joined Leipzig from CD Leganes last summer for a reported fee of €20 million, and his current market remains the same, according to Transfermarkt.
“I try not to pay much attention” – Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez provides response to Barcelona transfer talk
Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has once again addressed rumors linking him with a move to Barcelona. Robert Lewandowski, who is currently Barcelona’s main man up front, has seen his future thrown into doubt, with reports suggesting that he will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Last month, Alvarez admitted that he was aware of the rumors linking him away from Atletico on social media and refused to rule out a move from the Spanish capital. In his latest interview with Marca, the Argentina international reiterated the same thing, saying he isn’t too bothered about the transfer talk. He said:
“Look, it doesn't bother me. I try not to pay much attention, but I know what's being said. It's all over social media. I think it's more what's being said online than what's actually happening. I'm very focused on this season, on what lies ahead with Atlético de Madrid. So, I try to tune it out and think about myself, about continuing to grow as a player, and about winning.”
Alvarez joined Atletico Madrid from Manchester City in 2024 and has established himself as a vital cog in Diego Simeone’s squad.
