Arsenal have identified AC Milan prodigy Davide Bartesaghi, who is also linked with Spanish giants Barcelona, as a transfer target, as per reports.
Bartesaghi came through the ranks of AC Milan’s youth setup and was promoted to the senior team in 2023. He has been handed a starting role, having made five appearances for I Rossoneri this season and starting each of the club’s last three games. His impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with some top European clubs now monitoring his progress.
According to MilanLive, Arsenal are watching and ‘challenging’ big teams for Bartesaghi, continuing their recent trend of signing players from Serie A, having brought in the likes ofTakehiro Tomiyasu, Jakub Kiwior, and Riccardo Calafiori in recent years.
Journalist Vicenzo Matrone confirmed Arsenal’s interest in the 19-year-old to the Italian outlet, saying:
“Last year when he signed his contract extension, he was as happy as a child. I hope he remains a serious player. I know Arsenal are pursuing him and have some serious demands. I hope he can become a full-back/wingman for AC Milan for the next 20 years. In the unfortunate year of Milan Futuro, he was fortunate enough to play as a central defender, and this has led to his improving as a marking player. He has improved a lot in one-on-one situations; he plays a powerful game, and yesterday they tried to get him to shoot.”
MilanLive also mentioned Barcelona as one of the clubs pursuing Bartesaghi. In recent weeks, clubs have reportedly sent scouts to watch him in action, with both the Gunners and Barca viewing him as a smart signing for the future.
However, Bartesaghi signed a long-term deal with Milan in May that runs until 2030. This means any potential move for the player would likely require a substantial offer. His current market value stands at €3 million, according to Transfermarkt.
