Real Madrid defender Alvaro Carreras talked himself into getting a red card in his side's shock 2-0 defeat to Celta Vigo at the Bernabeu. The Spanish giants lost further ground in their race for league glory as their defeat at home left them four points adrift of rivals Barcelona. Former Benfica left-back Carreras was shown a red card for a pair of bookings in stoppage time with his side 1-0 down. The 22-year-old was shown two yellow cards in quick succession for dissent, leading his side to finish the game with nine players. The Spaniard questioned the competence of referee Quintero Gonzalez, telling him "You're very bad", as per reports. Carreras may face up to two games out through suspension following his verbal attack on the centre referee on the night. He was initially booked for dissent before the referee produced a straight red card after his continued verbal assault. He joined fellow left-back Fran Garcia in getting sent off, as the frustration was palpable at the Bernabeu. Garcia picked up both of his yellow cards for committing fouls in the 63rd and 64th minutes, having started the game at left-back. Carreras began the game at centre-back before his sending-off due to a pair of bookings in the closing stages of the encounter. Xabi Alonso's side saw what remains of their backline get depleted ahead of their next league game against Deportivo Alaves. In addition to Garcia and Carreras picking up suspensions, Eder Militao was also forced off in the first half with what looked like a muscular problem. Nine-man Real Madrid suffer shock defeat to Celta Vigo Real Madrid finished the game with nine players as they were on the receiving end of a 2-0 defeat to LaLiga outfit Celta Vigo at the Bernabeu. Los Blancos tasted a home defeat at the hands of Celta Vigo for the first time in 19 years, leaving them four points behind Barcelona. Celta Vigo took the lead on the 53rd minute through substitute Williot Swedberg, who beat Thibaut Courtois with a deft flick following a cross from Bryan Zaragoza. Real Madrid were reduced to ten players shortly afterward, as Fran Garcia was sent for an early shower. Los Blancos dug their own grave as Alvaro Carreras received another red card before Swedberg repeated the trick, this time rounding Courtois before walking the ball home in stoppage time. The game ended 2-0, but there was still time for referee to send off Endrick from the Real Madrid substitutes' bench.
