Liverpool star Mohamed Salah hilariously declined the invitation from journalists to talk to them in the mixed zone after the Brighton & Hove Albion win. The Egyptian had called for an impromptu interview last weekend after the draw at Leeds United.
In a video published by Dominic King on X (formerly Twitter), Salah was seen walking out of Anfield to join his teammates on the bus. Journalists were talking to Virgil Van Dijk when they spotted the Egyptian and asked him to come over.
However, he was quick to decline the invitation and said:
"Two weeks in a row? No!"
Salah was furious with Liverpool and Arne Slot after the 3-3 draw at Leeds United and said:
"I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame. I got a lot of promises in the summer and so far I am on the bench for three games so I can't say they keep the promise. I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden, we don't have any relationship. I don't know why, but it seems to me, how I see it, that someone doesn't want me in the club. This club, I always support it. My kids will always support it. I love the club so much I will always do."
Salah was eventually dropped from the matchday squad for their UEFA Champions League win over Inter Milan. He was added back to the bench after talks with Arne Slot, and he came on for the second half to assist Hugo Ekitike's second goal of the game.
Mohamed Salah was furious with his situation at Liverpool
Last week, Mohamed Salah claimed that his situation at Liverpool was unacceptable, following his time at Anfield. He believed that he was being thrown under the bus and said:
“It is not acceptable for me. I don't know why this is happening to me. I don't get it. I think if this was somewhere else, every club would protect its player. How I see it now is like you throw Mo under the bus because he is the problem in the team now. But I don't think I am the problem."
"I have done so much for this club. The respect, I want to get. I don't have to go every day fighting for my position because I earned it. I am not bigger than anyone but I earned my position. It's football. It is what it is.”
Liverpool are set to be without Mohamed Salah for the next few games as he has joined Egypt for their AFCON matches. He is expected to return in January.
