The Portuguese superstar was part of a Saudi delegation led by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to the event, which hosted some of the world's most prominent figures, including FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

While giving a speech at the dinner, President Trump notably paid tribute to Ronaldo, who is expected to feature in next year's FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The 40-year-old is set to make a record by featuring in his sixth FIFA World Cup tournament next summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo has become an ambassador of Saudi Arabia since his move to the Middle East with Al-Nassr in 2022. With his influence, he has increased visibility for the Saudi Pro League and paved the way for more European stars to join the league.

When Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about meeting with Donald Trump

A couple of days before attending the dinner at the White House, Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about his desire to meet Donald Trump. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner lauded the United States president in an interview with Piers Morgan and said:

"He is one of the guys who can help to change the world. One of the most important guys is the US President. He is one of the guys I wish to meet to sit and have a nice talk. If it is here, or in the US, wherever he wants, I know he was here in Saudi with our boss MBS (Mohammed bin Salman).

"I wish one day to meet him because he is one of the guys who can make things happen and I like people like that."

Ronaldo will be hoping to guide Portugal to World Cup glory in the United States next summer in what will most likely be his last major international outing.
