"There’s no doubt about it" - Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone snubs Arsenal, names team he believes is the strongest in the UCL

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has snubbed Arsenal and named Inter Milan as the strongest side in the UEFA Champions League this season. The Argentine said that the Italian side forced them to change their tactics and restricted their flow in the second half.

Speaking to the media after the 2-1 win over Inter Milan, Simeone said that he was adamant that Inter Milan were the strongest side in the competition, despite being thrashed 4-0 by Arsenal earlier this season, and said (via Metro):

"There's no doubt about it. Inter are the strongest team in the Champions League right now. That's why we played a first half to hinder their play. We knew that in the second half we could express our full repertoire, with top-class players like Griezmann, [Alexander] Sorloth, and Nico Gonzalez, who came on very well and allowed us to score in the final move."

"It was very nice but the idea, regardless of the result, was the same. I don't know how to live in my comfort zone, I prefer to stay that way. You have to work with faith, love, and quality. I have players who follow me, and that's crucial for every coach. Today, there were strikers on the bench who wanted to start, and when they came on, they showed their worth."

Arsenal beat Bayern Munich 3-1 on Wednesday night, while Atletico Madrid also won 2-1 at home against Inter Milan.

Joshua Kimmick takes dig at Arsenal after Bayern Munich loss

Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich claimed that Arsenal rely too much on set-pieces. The German said that the match against Chelsea was better and said (via Metro):

"We weren't physically up to par against the ball, although it was clear what kind of game it would be. It was clear that it wouldn't be a game like the one against Chelsea, where it's mostly about playing football, but we were aware that it would be much more about fighting for every ball, lots of long balls."

"Arsenal then of course play every ball sharply, whether it's a goal kick, a free-kick, a corner, they do it sharply, play everything into the box. They love their set-pieces and go all out for them, yes, we conceded too many set-pieces and then at some point it becomes difficult to defend them all."

Kimmich also named Paris Saint-Germain as the toughest opponent they have faced in the UEFA Champions League this season.
