Indian Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar has shared an interesting message on social media after meeting Lionel Messi. The Argentine maestro is in the country for a brief "GOAT" tour, fresh from winning the MLS Cup with Inter Miami.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner was instrumental in the Herons' historic triumph, finishing the season with 43 goals and 26 assists from 49 games across competitions. The 38-year-old was also adjudged the MLS MVP for the 2025 season.

Sachin Tendulkar was full of praise for Lionel Messi after the meeting, and thanked the Argentine icon for encouraging the youngsters in the country.

“When it comes to Leo, if I have to speak about his game, it wouldn’t be the right platform. And you know, what does one talk about him? He has achieved everything. We really admire his dedication, determination, commitment," said Tendulkar.

He continued:

“And above all, his humility, the person that he is. And on behalf of Mumbaikars and Indians, I would like to wish him and his family the very best of health and happiness to all of you. Thank you once again for being here and encouraging youngsters.”

Lionel Messi has won a record 47 trophies in his career, three of which were lifted with Inter Miami. The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner has also won everything on offer with Argentina.

The former Barcelona player's future with the Herons was subject to speculation for a while, especially since his previous contract was due to expire at the end of the year. However, Messi has since signed a new deal at the Chase Stadium until the end of 2028.
