Portugal fans are disappointed after images of the FIFA World Cup kit to be worn by Cristiano Ronaldo's side were leaked online. Many have labeled the design 'boring' as it is suggested that the kit will be all red with barely visible silver waves on the front, and a turquoise stripe on the color and sleeve.

Portugal sealed their place at the FIFA World Cup next summer after finishing on top of their group.

Ronaldo was banned from their final qualifier last month, after picking up a red card in their 2-0 loss to Ireland earlier in November.

FIFA has suspended his red card ban after an appeal by the Portuguese Football Federation. He served a one-match ban against Armenia, but will now be available for the World Cup openers.

His fans were delighted with the news late in November, but have been disappointed with the leaked images of the jersey Portugal are set to wear. Many posted:

Ronaldo has already taken the pressure off Portugal, saying that a FIFA World Cup would not change his legacy. The Al-Nassr captain believes that he has done enough to cement his place and told Piers Morgan:

"How many World Cups wins [did] Argentina [have] before Messi? How many? I don't know. Two times. I think. Yeah, but it's normal. These countries, they used to win big competitions. Brazil, if they win the World Cup, they will surprise the world. No, if Portugal wins the World Cup, which is possible, they will shock the world."

"Yes. But in my mind, I don't thinking in that way. Of course, you want to win. Yeah. When you compete, you want to win. I'm not I'm honest. For me, I'm not going to change the way I see the things and the way I see the football."

Cristiano Ronaldo has also confirmed that the 2026 edition will be his final World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo hungry for FIFA World Cup glory, says former Portugal coach

Former Portugal coach Hugo Oliveira spoke to Ojogo earlier in 2025, revealing that Cristiano Ronaldo is still hungry for success. He said that the forward can lead the team to FIFA World Cup glory and said:

"[Ronaldo] is still hungry. He's hungry. He was a young lad [in 2010] and now he's the same. That mentality can be contagious in the Portuguese national team. Perhaps his last World Cup could be an incredible way for him to finish his international games for Portugal. I think we have a generation that has to fight for the competition. We are one of the top five teams that will fight to win the competition."

Cristiano Ronaldo will create history, along with Lionel Messi, at the 2026 FIFA World Cup by becoming the first footballer to play in six editions of the tournament.
