Former Portugal coach rates chances of Cristiano Ronaldo winning 2026 WC

Oliveira has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo is as hungry for success as he was back in 2010. He further insisted that it would be incredible if the five-time Ballon d'Or winner finishes his international career with World Cup success.

The Famalicão manager also claimed that Portugal have one of the five best teams in the world right now. He said, as quoted by Portuguese outlet Ojogo:

"[Ronaldo] is still hungry. He's hungry. He was a young lad [in 2010] and now he's the same. That mentality can be contagious in the Portuguese national team. Perhaps his last World Cup could be an incredible way for him to finish his international games for Portugal. I think we have a generation that has to fight for the competition. We are one of the top five teams that will fight to win the competition."

Cristiano Ronaldo is the most capped player in international football and also holds the record for the highest number of goals in men's international football. He has earned 225 caps for Portugal till date, scoring 143 goals and providing 46 assists in the process.

He has won one UEFA European Championship and two UEFA Nations Leagues but is yet to taste success in the FIFA World Cup. The 40-year-old has already played in five World Cups and will make history this summer by participating in his sixth World Cup campaign.

Cristiano Ronaldo makes bold scoring claim in new Piers Morgan interview

Cristiano Ronaldo has remarkably claimed that he would score the same number of goals for Al-Nassr last season even if he was playing for a top Premier League side. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United superstar has claimed that he still has what it takes to lead the line for a top Premier League side. In his latest interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo claimed:

"Ah! Excuse. Yeah, excuses. It's the most simple way. For everything excuses, excuses, excuses. Year by year, year by year, I score more. Even in a bad year, I scored 25 goals. If I played the Premier League, now in a top team, I will score the same! If I had a good team, at 40 years old, I will score the same. I don't need to speak because they can say whatever they want, but the numbers, they don't lie."

He added:

"They can't say Saudi league. They have never been here, they never play here. They don't know what [it is like] to run in 40 degrees [temperature]. They don't know. And I still continue and I repeat the Saudi League, the Saudi league, it's much, much better than Portuguese League, of course. French league is only PSG. Premier League is good, of course, is the number one."

Cristiano Ronaldo, despite being 40 years old, is still a force to be reckoned with in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr. He scored 25 league goals in 30 games last season while also scoring 10 goals in other competitions.
