Chelsea fans question Enzo Maresca

Chelsea fans were surprised that manager Enzo Maresca benched Estevao Willian for their Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Many on social media believe that the Brazilian should be starting on the right wing, where the manager has preferred to start Pedro Neto for the game.

Robert Sanchez keeps his place in the starting XI, with Maresca also keeping the backline that kept a clean sheet at Tottenham intact. Malo Gusto and Marc Cucurella are on the flanks, with Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah playing in the middle of the defence.

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez are the midfielders today, with Joao Pedro playing in the attacking role ahead of them. Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho are starting on the wings, with Liam Delap leading the attack.

Maresca was asked about Estevao during his press conference ahead of the match, and the manager admitted that the Brazilian was ready to start. He added that the teenager is adapting to the weather in England and said (via Football London):

"No, he's ready to start. For sure he's ready to start. But if Estevao starts, another one is on the bench. And probably the other one also wants to start. We just try to do the best for Estevao. We are helping him in terms of adapt to England.

"Again, last week he was complaining about it being cold. Last week was still October. Imagine December, January! He has to adapt. He's happy. He's doing fantastic. For sure he's a talented player for this club."

Estevao Willian has started four times in the Premier League and was in the starting XI against Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Enzo Maresca happy with Chelsea's start to the season

Enzo Maresca has admitted that his players have gone all-out for the win in every game this season and is happy with the performances. The Chelsea manager believes the expectations have gone up and said (via Football London):

"I think we tried to win all the games. Also, I can understand that this season, the expectation has risen around the team. Again, last year, after 11 games, I think we had 19 points. If we are able to win tomorrow, we have more points this season compared to last season.

"So, do we have consistency or not? The big difference for me, personally, from this season and last season, is the expectation around the team. Because the numbers are there and we can be even better than last season. But because the expectation has risen, it's obviously a big difference."

Chelsea are eighth in the Premier League table going into the game against Wolverhampton.
