Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami have reportedly started house-hunting for Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski. The MLS champions are keen on signing him on a free transfer after his contract expires at the end of the season.

According to Polish journalist Marek Jozwiak, Inter Milan seem set to be Lewandowski's next destination amid reports of the Saudi Pro League and Fenerbahce. The striker kept his options open and is now close to making a decision on his future.

Lewandowski spoke about his future earlier this season, saying that he was calm about it and would not rush into a decision. He hinted that there were no offers from Barcelona and said:

"I still don't know the answer. That's why I'm not in a hurry, I'm at peace with myself. And that is the most important thing. Even if, for example, the club contacted me now, I still wouldn't answer that question. Because I also have to feel what's best for me. Now I'm calm, I'm not in a hurry and, at the moment, I don't expect anything else."

The striker's agent, Pini Zahavi, also spoke about the Polish superstar's future, revealing that he would not be moving in the winter window. He said (via Barca Blaugranes):

“Everything being said about Lewandowski's possible departure in the winter transfer window is completely false. Robert isn’t thinking about leaving right now; he’s completely focused on helping the team and winning titles. He feels completely settled in Barca and has no intention of opening the door to a mid-season exit.”

Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami signed Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba from Barcelona in recent years, and the duo have since retired. They are now looking for a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami signed Sergio Reguilon on Monday

Inter Miami replaced Jordi Alba with free agent Sergio Reguilon on Monday, December 15, after the Spaniard announced his retirement at the end of the 2025 MLS season. The former Real Madrid defender spoke to the club's media team after the signing and said (via World Soccer Talk):

“I think it’s a very ambitious project. It’s a club that’s doing things very well. They’re the current champions, and that’s what attracts me - winning teams. Both the people at the club and the owners are doing a great job, and that shows.”

Talking about playing with Lionel Messi, the Spaniard added:

“It’s a really exciting reason to come here: to keep winning and keep competing. I won’t lie - coming here to play with Leo is an extra motivation."

Reguilon was a free agent after his release from Tottenham in the summer. Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami were not the only side interested in signing him, with reports suggesting that Saudi Arabian and Iranian sides were also making moves.
