Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has said that he values the opinion of manager Xabi Alonso more than anyone else. The midfielder was in the middle of a controversy last week after a journalist questioned his reaction to getting substituted during England's win over Albania.
On his JB5 App, Bellingham stated that he does not focus on outside noise and instead concentrates on the opinions of those around him. He said that his time on the pitch is decided by coaches and their opinions are valued the most by him. He wrote (via Madrid Universal):
"The opinion that matters to me is Real Madrid fans, my teammates are very important, and most importantly my coach, if I don’t impress him, I’m not playing (smiles)."
England manager Thomas Tuchel said he would be reviewing the situation surrounding Bellingham's reaction to being substituted last week. He wants the team to focus on their collective goals and not their personal targets. He told BBC Radio 5 Live:
"I don't want to make more out of it but I stick to my words - 'behaviour is key' and respect towards the team-mates who come in. Decisions are made and you have to accept it as a player."
"Morgan Rogers was for sure not happy when he couldn't start today because he deserves to play for us and he wants to play all the time. We gave him a bit of a rest because he came with a lot of minutes for his club and played against Serbia."
Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was unhappy with the decision to take him off during the FIFA World Cup qualifier. A journalist spotted him not joining the teammates to celebrate Morgan Rogers' goal and hit out at the Englishman.
Ian Wright offers support to Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham
Arsenal legend Ian Wright was quick to jump in support of Jude Bellingham after the Real Madrid star was questioned by the journalist. He took to the comments section of the BBC's reel and posted:
"They need to create this kind of beef because there's nothing else to talk about till the World Cup so it's gonna be this all the way to the World Cup. They hate that they can't get to him. They hate that they can't negatively influence his club career like they have done to so many before him. A blessed young man with talent and love in abundance."
Jude Bellingham was out at the start of the season after shoulder surgery and has now returned to the pitch for Real Madrid.
