Arsenal legend Ian Wright has backed Mikel Arteta's side to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League clash this weekend. He believes his former side will keep a clean sheet, despite the absence of Gabriel.
Speaking on The Overlap, Wright said that Arsenal won't need a set piece to score this weekend. He believes that the Gunners will do well with Cristhian Mosquera coming in for Gabriel and said:
"I'm not giving Spurs anything. We won't need a set piece this week. We'll save it for next week. I'm going 2-0. It's not that I'm worried but this is what the league is about now. Everyone is saying about how great our squad is but this is when we find out what we're about."
Gary Neville chipped in and backed Tottenham to score a goal, but believed that the Gunners would get the three points and said:
"I don't think it'll be 2-0. I think it'll be a bit more of a scruffy game. I think it'll be a bit messy. I think 2-1 Arsenal or 3-2. It's that type of game. But I'll go 2-1 Arsenal. I think Tottenham will score."
Mikel Arteta's men host Tottenham on Sunday, November 23, in the Premier League at the Emirates. The two sides are separated by eight points in the table, with the Gunners on top and Spurs sitting fifth.
Arsenal legend warns Mikel Arteta ahead of Tottenham clash
Thierry Henry believes Tottenham will make it hard for the Gunners in the North London Derby this weekend. He highlighted the away form under Thomas Frank as a key reason and told Betway:
"I never used to like to come back and have a tough game after international duty. Thankfully, Arsènal are playing a team who also have a lot of international players. Sometimes you play a team who stayed for the whole 10 days and they're waiting for you."
"It's a north London derby, so the intensity will be there. And you're playing against a team who hasn't lost away from home. Against Sunderland, Arsenal encountered something that they usually do to teams. They played the long ball, and it reminded me of my time in the Premier League, where you couldn't put pressure on any team."
The Gunners have won five of the last six meetings between the two sides in the Premier League, with the other ending in a draw. Tottenham's last win in the North London Derby was in 2022, when they beat Arteta's side 3-0 at home.
