Portugal and Juventus star Francisco Conceicao has revealed the advice he got from Cristiano Ronaldo with regards to playing for the Serie A giants. The former FC Porto man signed a permanent deal with the Bianconeri in the summer, following in the footsteps of his illustrious compatriot in doing so.
In an exclusive interview with Tuttosport, Conceicao spoke about life in Turin, revealing that he has spoken with Ronaldo about the club on multiple occasions. He pointed out that the 40-year-old enjoyed a great spell at the club but warned him of the pressure that comes with playing there.
"Yes, I like talking to him (Cristiano Ronaldo). I learn a lot; Cristiano had a great time here. He always tells me: 'You're at a great club, but when you don't win, the pressure grows'", he said (via Tribuna.com).
Conceicao joined the Serie A side on loan for the 2024-25 season, and contributed seven goals and four assists in 40 appearances. He was signed permanently by the club for €32 million this summer, taking the number 7 shirt previously worn by compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo. The 22-year-old has managed two goals in ten appearances so far this season for the club.
Ronaldo joined the Old Lady in 2018 after nine hugely successful years in Spain with Real Madrid, spending three years in Italy. He played 134 games for the club, scoring 101 goals and providing 20 assists across all competitions. He won two league titles and the Coppa Italia once, as well as the Supercoppa twice.
Ruben Amorim replies to Cristiano Ronaldo comments on Manchester United
Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has provided a response to compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo over his recent comments on the club. The Portugal international told Piers Morgan that the club's lack of structure is a problem, blaming it for their woes.
Amorim told reporters ahead of his side facing Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League that he wants to move on from the past in his dealings with the club. He pointed out that work is being done to move the club in the right direction and asked that people focus on their future.
"Of course, he knows he has huge impact on everything he says. But what we need to focus on is in future. We know as a club we made a lot of mistakes in the past. We are trying to change that. Let’s not focus on what happened. We need to focus on the future. Let’s focus on the way we are doing things. We are changing a lot of things, the structure, the way we want the players to behave, we are improving. Let’s forget a little bit the past", he said (via Mirror.co.uk).
Cristiano Ronaldo has had two spells with Manchester United, having first joined the club as an 18-year-old in 2003. He joined for a second time 18 years later but left abruptly after falling out with then-manager Erik ten Hag among others at the club.
