Hours after Carragher called Mo Salah as the guy who failed at Chelsea, Liverpool forward shares update as teammates focus on Inter clash

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has posted an update from the gym, hours after Jamie Carragher slammed him as a player who failed at Chelsea. The Egyptian is not traveling to Italy for the UEFA Champions League game against Inter Milan, after Arne Slot decided to leave him out.

Taking to his social media accounts, Salah posted a message for his fans, days after his explosive interview with the journalists.

The Liverpool star said that he was being thrown under the bus by Slot and the club, and the comments did not go down well with Carragher. The Reds legend took shots at Salah on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football and said (via BBC):

"He's chosen this weekend to do this now and has waited for a bad result for Liverpool, when the supporters and everyone involved in club feels like they are in the gutter. He's chose that time to go for the manager and maybe he's trying to to get him sacked. That's the way I felt about it. The 'thrown under the bus' line stands out to me."

"He's tried to do that to the club twice in the last 12 months. He's going after owners initially who have paid him hundreds of thousands of pounds over the last six years and complained he's not got a huge contract at the age of 32 when they're more than entitled to do that. With the manager right now, he should be trying to do as much as possible to get the club out of their worst run since the 1950s, and hasn't done that."

"I want to remind Salah and his agent that before he came to Liverpool, he was known as the guy who failed at Chelsea. He had never won a major trophy. He is also the greatest player his country has ever had. Egypt in AFCON are the most successful nation but Salah has never won AFCON."

Mohamed Salah is set to leave for AFCON next week, after Liverpool's game against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League this weekend.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was in the final months of his contract when he made a public statement in the mixed zone to journalists, revealing he had not been offered a new deal.

The Reds extended Salah's contract towards the end of the season, along with Virgil van Dijk, who was also in a similar situation. The Egyptian has not hinted that he will be leaving the club in the winter window, claiming that the club have broken their promises.

Salah also hit out at Arne Slot for benching him in the last few matches. He claimed that the manager was throwing him under the bus because of the club's poor form.
