Chelsea fans were left pleased with the performance of forward Jamie Gittens in their FA Cup Third Round meeting with Charlton Athletic. The Blues ran out 5-1 winners against the Championship side in new head coach Liam Rosenior's first game in charge of the club.

Former Strasbourg boss Rosenior was in the dugout as his new side strolled to a comfortable victory in the cup against their fellow Londoners. He employed a similar system and formation to that used by his predecessor Enzo Maresca as he rotated his pack for the game.

England U-21 international Jamie Gittens was included in the starting XI for the game as Rosenior gave him a chance to impress. The 21-year-old winger appeared to take the chance with both hands, earning the praise and acclaim from the Chelsea fans in the stadium and elsewhere.

Jamie Gittens did not score or assist in the game but managed to keep the Charlton backline on their toes throughout. He attempted four shots and created a chance, while also completing three of four dribbles in the game. He also won seven of 11 ground duels and made five ball recoveries before his substitution in the 66th minute.

Liam Rosenior was left pleased as his Chelsea saw off the challenge of Charlton Athletic 5-1 in their FA Cup tie. The 41-year-old Englishman emulated Antonio Conte as he became the first Blues boss to win his first game in charge since the Italian in 2016.

Still reeling from their defeat to Fulham last time out, Rosenior's side took the entirety of the first half to find the breakthrough against Charlton. Jorrel Hato opened his account with a fine volley from inside the box in first half stoppage time to open the scoring.

Tosin Adarabioyo headed home a second for the Blues just five minutes into the second half before Miles Leaburn pulled one back for Charlton. Marc Guiu restored the Chelsea's two-goal cushion before late strikes from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez sealed the win for Rosenior's side.
